Currently, my girlfriend (Olivia or Olive for short) and I are doing a Bible reading plan that takes us through the whole Bible within a year. It’s been a great way for us to connect and have accountability for our reading. A lot of what I’ll be talking about will probably be coming from the time I spend reading from this plan. This week we were reading through Exodus, and I found something very interesting in chapters 16-18. Already with the semester barely started I’ve been feeling busy and tired from all the businesses and things of life. In these chapters as Israel is leaving Egypt the Lord provides for them is some amazing ways. What stuck out to me though was how when He did provide, He provided just enough for everyone. Those who needed a lot, got a lot. Those who needed a little, got a little, and no one went without or even with too much. To me it is a refreshing reminder to remember that God is the ultimate provider, giving us exactly what we need. Not just through the physical provision (money, food, shelter etc.), but also in the emotional and spiritual (giving us a place to find peace in our worry and stress). For me this week it was a great reminder that know when enough is enough and to allow God to be the one that fills me up, and that I don’t have to try to push through and try to do everything on empty. He’s the God who will always give us enough, and more sometimes so that we can bless others.
Enough is Enough

My husband and I started the Chronological plan on the YouVersion Bible App and it’s really opened up some good discussions between us so far. One month down, eleven more to go! We’ve read through Job and Genesis and have just started Exodus. I’m sure you’ll bring some good discussion points to your blog that my husband and I can discuss, as well. Thanks.

Im not really big into church, but I am opened minded and accepting. It is hard to understand that enough is good enough when we see and want so many things. Good humbling post.

Great post! I think we often struggle with God’s definition of “good” because it doesn’t always line up with our definition. When He provides us with what we need, we don’t always view it as enough, but it is. This is a good reminder!
